Carlos II Ocasio Díaz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He published his first book at age eighteen, heading the list of best-selling books in prestigious bookstores islandwide including Thekes, Bell, Book and Candle, Castlebooks and Borders, among others. In 2005, his first novel Abre la Puerta won the award for Best Novel presented by Puerto Rico’s Pen Club Chapter. Triad in April, his first collection of short stories published in 2006 – currently in its third edition - has been adapted for the stage by Professor Nelly Bauzá Echevarría’s student group at the University of Puerto Rico-Utuado Campus. For several years now, his books have been chosen by several professors to be included in their study curriculums at Puerto Rico’s leading universities.
